Someone Greater

Dear Friend,

It can be hard to know what to believe these days. Everyone seems to have an answer, a product, a platform, or a promise. After a while, we may decide simply to trust ourselves.

That may work for a time. But eventually life brings us to places where our own strength isn't enough: a loss we didn't expect, a relationship that breaks, uncertainty about the future, the death of someone we love, or simply the quiet realization that something is missing.

What do we hold onto then? Where do we find real hope?

I have discovered that Christian faith is not pretending everything will be okay. It is trusting Someone greater than myself—even when I cannot see what comes next.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Hebrews 11:1

That Someone is Jesus Christ.

God Has Come Near

The good news of Christianity begins not with our search for God, but with God's love for us.

God knows you completely—your name, your story, your hopes, your failures, your questions—and He loves you. From the beginning, God has been reaching toward His creation, inviting us into relationship with Him.

That love became visible in Jesus Christ.

Jesus entered our broken world, shared our humanity, carried our sin and shame to the cross, and gave His life for us. Three days later, He rose from the dead. Because Jesus lives, sin and death do not have the final word.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

This is the hope of the Gospel: God's grace is reaching toward you, and new life is possible through Jesus Christ.

Where Are You In The Journey?

Maybe you've believed in Jesus for years. Maybe you're curious. Maybe you're skeptical. Maybe you're hurting. Maybe you're not even sure what you believe.

Wherever you are, Jesus invites you to come to Him.

The Bible tells us that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God's intention for our lives. Sin separates us from God and leads toward death—but God has not left us there.

God offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life as a gift through Jesus Christ.

The Problem:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23

The Gift:
“The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

The Way:
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
John 14:6

The Christian response is wonderfully simple:

ADMIT that you have sinned and need God's grace.
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died and rose again for you.
TRUST Jesus as Savior and Lord, turning toward Him and beginning a new life of following Him.

You don't need to have everything figured out. You simply need to begin.

A Conversation With God

There are no magic words that make someone a Christian. Prayer is simply an honest conversation with God. If you are ready to place your trust in Jesus, you might pray something like this:

God, I need You. Thank You for loving me and reaching toward me. I admit that I have sinned and need Your forgiveness. I turn from my sin and turn toward You. I believe that Jesus Christ died for me and that You raised Him from the dead. I receive Your grace and place my trust in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Forgive me, change me, and teach me how to follow You. Thank You for giving me new life and hope. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, the prayer itself isn't what saves you. Jesus does. You are responding in faith to the grace God has already offered you.

Don't Walk Alone

Following Jesus isn't meant to be a journey we take by ourselves.

Begin reading the Bible. Talk with God honestly. Find other Christians who can walk with you, answer your questions, pray with you, and help you learn what it means to follow Jesus.

Jesus is inviting you into more than a belief system. He is inviting you into life with Him.

Come to Jesus. Receive His grace. Believe—and begin the journey.
